The
conference will be held on the Caltech campus in Pasadena,
California, on Saturday, December 3, 2005.
We
are inviting up to 4 students and 2
chaperones per school (at
least one chaperone must be a teacher). Working in
pairs, students will design a poster presentation about a robot
they would use to explore the deep ocean. Participation
is limited and is on a first-come, first served basis beginning
September 23, 2005. You will need to provide us with the
names of your students when you register.
Once
you register for the conference, we will send you a packet
to get your students thinking about robotics and the undersea
environment. It will include materials, as well as directions
for creating a poster presentation. You will also receive
the contact information of a Caltech mentor who will provide
additional assistance to your students.
At the conference the students will present their posters at a
poster session and have the opportunity to discuss their designs
with professional roboticists, engineers and other students. The
conference, related materials and lunch will be provided at no
cost to participants. |
